Working with the city to create an environment that its citizens desire.
Hirosaki Environmental Partnership 21
Hirosaki Environmental Partnership 21
Hirosaki Environmental Partnership 21 is a citizens’ group established by people who were involved in the formulation of the Hirosaki City Basic Environmental Plan, together with approximately 100 citizens who support the plan.
During the implementation stage of the Basic Environmental Plan, we signed an Environmental Partnership Agreement with the Mayor of Hirosaki — the first agreement of its kind in Japan. Since then, we have renewed the agreement annually and have worked together with the city to promote environmental initiatives.
If you share with us your ideas for the kind of environment you would like to see, we will work together to make them a reality.
Harnessing the regenerative power of nature to restore the environment
We have been working on this site in collaboration with Hirosaki City.
Our goal is to preserve the Tsugaru region's satoyama landscape and the creatures that inhabit it for future generations.
Satoyama is the area on the border between the mountains and plains regions with unique environmental characteristics and human cultural traditions.
The site has become a place where local residents, university students, and elementary and junior high school students can interact across generations.
University students also conduct their own weather observations here, and the activities continue to expand to people of all ages.
*“Danburi” means “dragonfly” in the Tsugaru dialect.
